Medieval armor was used by knights to protect the body and head from enemy attacks. There was a huge variety of armor. Knights in Europe mainly used heavy plate armor, which well protected the body from enemy arrows and sword strikes. In Russia, they used a lighter version of armor, since the knight in them was more mobile and quickly changed his position and stance for battle. Also, due to its lightness, the knight could easily dodge heavy blows with a sword, unlike heavy plate armor, which held chopping blows with a sword well, but because of its weight and stiffness, the knight could not quickly evade blows.
